Clinical Significance: |
BNP assay is used in the evaluation of acute congestive heart failure. It is FDA cleared for aid in diagnosis of heart failure and risk stratification of heart failure and acute coronary syndrome. Elevations can occur due to right heart failure,cor pulmonale, pulmonary hypertension, sepsis, renal failure and acute pulmonary embolism. |
