Container:	APTIMA Urine Specimen Collection Kit for Male and Female Urine Specimens - yellow label
Collection Instructions:	For male or female urine specimen: Patient should not have urinated for at least one hour prior to sampling. Patient should provide first-catch urine sample (approximately 20-30mL of initial urine stream) into a sterile urine collection cup. Specimen may be sent to lab in primary collection sterile urine cup, transferred to yellow cap vacutainer tube or transferred to Aptima urine transport tube according to printed instructions on APTIMA urine specimen collection kit packaging. (Note: sterile cup and/or yellow cap vacutainer tube cannot be shared with other tests that require a midstream specimen.)
Transport Temperature:	Refrigerated
Stability:	Urine, sterile container: Room temperature or refrigerated 24 hours APTIMA urine specimen tube: Room temperature or refrigerated 30 days (Note: after testing, specimens are saved in the lab for 7 days.)
Rejection Criteria:	Urine in APTIMA preservative tube not filled to volume indicated on tube
Limitations:	Collection of urine volume larger than 20-30mL of initial urine stream may result in specimen dilution that may reduce test sensitivity. DO NOT OVERFILL. A negative result does not preclude the presence of a C. trachomatis or N. gonorrhoeae infection because results are dependent on adequate specimen collection, absence of inhibitors, and sufficient rRNA to be detected. Test cannot be performed on patients <14 years of age.

Clinical Significance:	This assay may be used to test specimens from symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals to aid in the diagnosis of gonococcal and/or chlamydial urogenital disease.
