Collection Instructions:

Patient preparation: Overnight fasting is preferred.
Patients should be relaxed in a supine position before blood is drawn.

Draw specimen in 2 pre-chilled tubes. Plasma should be separated within 30 minutes of collection. Carefully pipette plasma into a plastic transport tube and freeze immediately.

Limitations: This test was developed and its analytical performance characteristics have been determined by Quest Diagnostics. It has not been cleared or approved by FDA. This assay has been validated pursuant to the CLIA regulations and is used for clinical purposes.
Additional Information: States of anxiety and stress can cause fluctuations in the catecholamine levels. Patient should avoid alcohol, coffee, tea, tobacco and strenuous exercise prior to collection.
